Escape to BARCELONA.

Hi guys,

I am super excited to write about my Barcelona travel story and share all the wonderful moments with all of you. I was there for a week and my sister joined me for the weekend which doubled the fun!

Barcelona is one of my favorite holiday destination, it’s cool contemporary vibes along with its arty architecture, beautiful beaches and yummy tapas makes it a must visit.

Today I am going to share with you some of the places I visited and some tips on travel to Barcelona.

The Gothic Quater:

This was a fascinating square to walk around and check out the buildings that were built in the medieval times. The Gothic square stretches across the Las Ramblas to Via Laietana.

The best part of this quarter is that it has many peaceful squares, where you can relax and enjoy your surroundings and also have a glass of sangria. What I loved the most is the huge cathedral at the centre which has a stunning courtyard, which is also know as the Barcelona Cathedral.

Where to have the best Sangria in the Gothic Quater:
Las Ramblas:

Las Ramblas is one of the main attraction of  Barcelona, and you have to make a visit to this popular bustling street of this city. Las Ramblas is full of life and there’s always street artists performing there.

One of the fun things we did here was restaurant hopping so we could taste authentic Spanish tapas and Sangria. This was the place I enjoyed the most as it had everything food, shopping and music😊

Antoni Gaudi, one of the most famous architects in the world is responsible for the unique and beautiful designs that can be seen all over Barcelona.

La Sagrada Familia

The construction of this beautiful church started in the late 19th century, and is said  would be complete by 2026. This basilica is an absolute must see when you visit Barcelona. We could not visit the basilica from inside as the tickets were sold out and there are a limited number of visitors allowed everyday, so make sure you buy your tickets online and reach the place early so you can avoid being in the long queue.

Casa Batilo:

The Case batilo is also called  the House of bones, it is really a unique site to see, the architecture is so original it is inspired by dragons and is decorated all over by beautiful ceramics. This building is truly dream like!

Casa Mila (la Padrera)

Casa Mila also known as the stone quarry was built in the early 1900s and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1984.

Park Guell:

Another famous Architecture by Gaudi, this park had two parts to it. One that took us to the top of the hill so we could have a beautiful view of the whole city. img_4850img_4862

The other part of the park to us to the magical world of Gaudi, It had many creatures very colourful and unique as if we were in wonderland. I did get myself a little art of Gaudi when I got a pair of earrings.

La Boqueria Market:

This colourful and vibrant market is situated in the heart of La Ramblas. You can shop everything from fresh fruits vegetables to chocolates and seafood. Here you can find many restaurants and bars.

We randomly chose one of the restaurants and had delicious seafood platter.😋You can also try different types of ice creams and fresh juices here.

I am so glad I could spend time with my sister in this amazing place, we had a great time catching up, drinking eating and partying!

I truly loved exploring this city, we explored most of the city by foot, while using metro you can buy the T-10 metro card which gives you 10 rides, which is much cheaper than each ticket which is for €2.50.
