One of my favorite makeup looks’ from this years Met Gala was that of bad girl Riri! She wore a bold statement makeup which married well with her exhuberant dress. I recreated this makeup look to be easily accesible and worn this spring and summer.
As you see in the photo above, Rihanna went for a strong blush with bold lips, the skin was dewy and fresh with alot of highlighting.
You will need two shades of pink, you can use your eyeshadow or blushes, I used ARTIST Shadow from Makeup Forever.
Start by applying the lighter shade all over your eyelid. Take the color onto the temples and down to the cheeks.
Using the darker shade, add depth to the crease, use this also to sculpt the hollows of the cheeks.
Highlight the cheekbones, inner corner of the eye and on the brow bone using Glow kit Moonchild from Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Draw a thin eyeliner Apply a pink lip pencil on the waterline, then using the same pink eyeshadow from the first step, add intensity on the lower lash line. Make sure to blend well.
Finish by adding mascara and a lipstick, I went with a Matte finish (unlike Rihanna) as the rest of the look was very highlighted. I used Velvetines Wicked from Limecrime.
If you notice, the original look Rihanna wore to the Met Gala is very intense compared to the one I recreated here. The blush goes up to the forehead area from the temples in the original. This blush style is called Draping, I used it in my older post to create a beautiful spring look,do check it out 😉.
