I love pastel colors, it’s a great way to add a youthful poetic touch to your look. Soft shades of green, lilac and baby blue are my favorites to enhance the eyes and add a cooling effect during summer.
Sometimes it’s really difficult to make pastel colors pop on dark skin, they can end up looking dull. Today I will show you how to make your pastels pop, scroll down to check out my look 🙂
Step 1: For my pastel makeup I start with a dewy base, not full coverage. I like to keep my base as light as possible during summers.
Step 2: Start by adding a white crayon, where you are going to add the pastel shade. Using a white base will make your eyeshadow pop. Remember how I used white lipstick to make my eyeshadows look more intense in my article on WHITE LIPSTICK ? (You can use a white lipstick) Here I will do the same using the crayon, so my pastel shades remain visible on my skin without going dull. Blend the edges so your base is flawless.
Step 3: Add the blue eyeshadow, I used a matte shade. Mattes go on the most intense when you tap it on insteading of sweeping it across.
Step 4: I added a coppery shadow on my eyelids, using a flat brush. Then a dark drown shadow in the crease, which I blended for a soft look.
Step 5: Even if this is a soft pastel look, I will finish the eye look by adding intensity. I applied a darker blue on my waterline and a generous amount of mascara.
Step 6: To finish I added a brick red liquid matte lipstick No.10. I can’t stress enough how much I love the Sephora Liquid lipstick, check my review HERE. I sprayed a setting spray to fix the makeup and make it last longer, this is important specially during summer.
