A baby shower is a time to celebrate the soon arrival of your baby with your friends and loved ones, why should the mommy be the only one pampered during this time? I wanted to have a shower where I could have my husband and his friends as well to be a part of this beautiful experience. So for our baby shower, we decided to go for a ‘Couples Baby Shower‘ to celebrate us and our little one to join our team soon! My husband and I are very thankful to all our family and friends who helped celebrate our baby boy(haven’t decided the name yet).
A very big thank you to my gorgeous sister who helped organize this baby shower for me. You are going to be the best Masi ever❤️ A baby shower needs a bit of preparation and my sister and I started discussing months in advance!
I wanted my theme to be a little different from the classic blue, so after much reflection, we decided to have a spring-inspired baby shower. We had our backyard beautifully decorated with flowers and buntings. We even went with huge balloons with ‘OH BOY’ which acted as the backdrop. We pierced in artificial flowers randomly around it for a fresh spring feeling! This is a super girly theme gives you so many possibilities to decorate and also so many pretty ways to dress up! As this was going to be a couples shower, we added a Beer & BBQ to it! It was a great match, there was something for everyone 🙂
For the dessert table, we went for a multicolored cake, with muffins and marshmallows dipped in white chocolate and other sweets! The BBQ consisted of some delicious chicken, mushroom and chorizo skewers and chutney sandwiches. As the party started around 4 we made sure that we had small finger foods and not a whole dinner setup.
No party is ever complete without games, so we planned a few games for the shower. The first one was ” Guess the Mum’s Tum”, as the name suggests everyone had to guess the measurement of the bump and write down, it was so much fun seeing how our friends got involved in this game.
You can find PDF versions of the games at the end of this post so you can directly download and print it. you welcome 😀
The second game was the “Sweet Mess Game“, I must admit this was a nasty one. We had 4 pampers filled with different chocolates and everyone had to guess the chocolate by tasting or smelling the pamper 🙈
PROPS & FAVORS
We also had a few props made so we could click some fun pictures. It’s super easy to make these, just print out pictures, cut it off and stick it on a cardboard paper, after that fix a little stick to hold on to using tape. If you don’t have time to make it yourself you can find many baby shower props online.
I made lavender goats milk soap as the favor for the shower. Here is a recipe if you would like to make your own – Lavender Soaps DIY
