5 Ways to Love your Imperfections! ❤️

At this moment, if I ask you what you love about your body? I’m sure you’ll ponder and put a lot of thought as to what you really love. On the contrary, the negative is hard to miss, it sticks rock solid, not allowing us to overlook and making every effort to conceal.

Yes, today’s post is about positive body image, ways in which we may be demeaning our self in an unknowing way.

Each and every one of us at some point in our life has been body shamed, for being too skinny, too fat, for our skin complexion etc etc. While others may pave the way to body shaming, its ‘YOU’ who continues it by contemplating, comparing, hoping to be different or more like someone else.

While the feeling of insecurity, the feeling of not being good enough is experienced by each and every woman in the world. We all can overcome whatever negativity we have towards our self, loving ourselves even on the days when our concealer cannot come to our rescue to hide every spot, wrinkle or stretch mark.

learn to love your imperfections

Here are 5 simple ways in which we can start loving our imperfections

1. Fine tune your mind

Of course, we all have flaws. Rather than shaming yourself about something you lack or don’t perceive as beautiful. Train your mind to focus on the positive maybe as simple as a beautiful smile or those long lashes. Your brain automatically helps you see and seek positive once we start focusing on positive aspects

2. Filter your network

Self-doubt and a negative self-image are often created by our immediate contact. Interactions as such need to be cut out, which question your self-image. Filter them out and associate with people who love you, compliment you and provide growth for appreciation.

3. Comparison is a complete NO

Quoting DUFF “there’s always somebody prettier or more talented or richer than you, but it shouldn’t affect how you see yourself”. The whole point is to stop comparing yourself to everyone you find better than you. Appreciate beauty rather than comparing, and a point to remember is one’s persons positive should not be considered as your negative.

4. Connect with your body

Contemplating your flaws will only make you feel worse about yourself, and rather than ruminating, connect with your body. Watch out for signs your body is sending you. Stop and think about why you feel the way you are, and provide your body with all the love and nourishment through exercise, proper sleep, and healthy food.

5. Embrace your flaws

This may be the most difficult of all. But we ladies really need to stop stressing, let down our hair and just breath. Be thankful for what we have even if it’s something about yourself which you love less.  Be confident about yourself, wear your flaws as a sign of individuality and uniqueness.

LOVE YOURSELF

In the end, it’s all about you, how you see yourself, how you project yourself which influences the way people perceive you. Let me know if you ever have experienced body shaming and how you faced it in comments below.
