With our busy lifestyles and unlimited access to media, it’s important to take time off to reconnect with your body and mind to be able to give the best of yourself.
For me, I do this by treating myself to a relaxing spa day, if you have read my previous posts you know how I love to try out different places, and that’s how I end up sharing some really amazing places with you guys. Today is about my recent experience at Jiva Spa, if you are in Goa, this place is a must go to!
I love getting away for the weekend, and as I live in Goa I don’t have to go too far, as Goa has some of the most beautiful properties, and I love to explore to find hidden gems that I can share with you! Today, I am excited to share one such gem where I recently went on a weekend getaway, especially with Valentine’s day around the corner, this would be perfect for all you lovely people planning a day out with your better half!
If vacations are good staycations are even better!
What is a STAYCATION?
It’s a vacation in the place you live, so you don’t really travel out just stay – staycation!
It is also a new online service for people living in Paris to book a stay ( Sunday – Monday ) in a variety of exclusive places, at a great discounted price. Check them out here.
I have been living in Paris for 7 years and a chance to rediscover the city is exactly what I need. For our first staycation, we chose the 9th district of Paris. It is one of the most attractive districts of Paris, showcasing some of the most beautiful Hausmannien architectural works of the ‘Belle Époque’ era, from lavish shopping areas to the Palais Garnier. You can enjoy an amazing walk by the river Seine and enjoy the view of the Eiffel tower afar. Scroll down to read all about my stay at a very luxurious hotel in the 9th district of Paris – Hotel de NELL.
So we took the metro to our destination, it is the best part to not have hours of travel before reaching your destination – your destination is just minutes away!
Hotel de Nell is beautifully nestled in the 9th district, the welcome was warm and the check in very efficient. The staff is very professional, they showed us around the hotel, and then took us up to our room. They had some welcome sweets and a special note from ‘staycation’ to welcome us!
Our room was on the 6th floor, with a breathtaking view of a church and the rooftops of Paris city! It had the smallest cutest balcony I have ever seen, everything about the room was cozy and put us immediately on ‘holiday mode’.
The rooms are very contemporarily styled and have a Japanese style tub which is a true masterpiece and was the jewel in the crown of our stay at Hotel de NELL. To add to it are the two tea bath rituals from Bulgari – that smell like heaven and are really relaxing!
After exploring our room, it was time to hit the spa! The very famous Spa Nuxeoffers its services at Hotel de NELL. The spa room is at the -1 level of the hotel, I was super happy to make my way from the room to the spa in my bathrobe! We took the 45-minute massage that was really relaxing, the masseuse was very professional, I highly recommend to visit Spa Nuxe if you are here. They even gave us a few samples of Nuxe products at the end of the service.
Price: 88€ for a 45-minute massage.
At around 6pm, we were bought a bottle of champagne to our room, the perfect way to enjoy your bath!
Dinner at La Régalade
As we were having such a great time at the hotel, we didn’t want to step out, so we decided to have dinner at the restaurant of the hotel – La Régalade.
It is a very popular restaurant, which offers a 3-course (with 5 options each) dinner menu for 39€. The menu has dishes that have been there ever since the place opened, in addition to the ‘plat de jour’! And you guys, I must say everything was super tasty! The dishes are really beautifully crafted, visually very appealing and a total fiesta for the tastebuds!
Our Favorites at La Régalade
When we got back to our room we had another surprise gift waiting for us – a box of chocolates from ‘Maison du Chocolat’ and a Spa Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse dry oil! I absolutely love these cute surprises and felt really pampered! Another fun offer is the pillow menu at Hotel de NELL, we loved the pillows that were there so we didn’t change, but if you are in a mood to experiment do choose among their different pillow options. The next day, we had breakfast at ‘La Régalade’ restaurant, they offer a sumptuous continental buffet and fresh products like sausages and eggs etc for a supplement of 10€. After breakfast, we cozied up in the room, had another round in the tub and went off to get some final clicks in our bathrobes before leaving!
We absolutely loved our first staycation in Paris, it was truly romantic, the hotel inculcates the true essence of the city! We will surely be trying out other places. I highly recommend Hotel de NELL, for a chic Parisienne style stay! It’s attention to detail and little sweet surprises made it extra special. It has everything you need to cut out from the ‘metro – boulot – dodo‘ routine.
When we got back from Hotel de NELL, we felt like we got back from a vacation, it was a truly refreshing feeling, I do recommend staycations to break from the routine and explore and reconnect with the city you live in! I hope you enjoyed this article guys, see you soon with some other fun places to visit in Paris. Let me know in comments below if you have ever been on a staycation in your city!

Have a great weekend guys, catch you soon with another post.
Babymoon is a romantic trip taken by the parents-to-be to have a vacation and spend some quality time together before the baby arrives. I highly recommend taking this trip as it is a great way to bond together.
My husband and I decided to do a babymoon as the last few months have been all about taking doctors appointments, scans, full working hours, shopping for the baby and this can be overwhelming. We really needed some time off, to spend the last moments of just the two together before we are joined by our little baby.
We decide to do our babymoon in Malta. Malta is a beautiful island located between Sicily and the North African Coast. As this period is a time to be careful moneywise and prepare for baby budget etc. we took an all-inclusive package and got a really great deal on Wowcher.
Babymoon is all about relaxing, so we decided to spend time at the hotel and hit the pool whenever we got a chance.
Places we visited
Malta is full of scenic locations which are beautiful to capture on camera. These are few of the places we visited.
The Popeyes’s village
The Popeyes village is one of the famous tourist destinations in Malta. The ticket to enter the village is about €14.50 and you also get a few freebies with this ticket.
The capital city of Valletta
The capital city of Valletta is a must to visit. It has some really beautiful lanes which will allow you to admire the architecture.
St Johns Cathedral:
This cathedral is the most beautiful I have ever seen, it literally gave me goosebumps when I entered. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and is located in Valletta.
The entrance fee to this beautiful cathedral is 10 euros if you’re in Valetta don’t forget to visit this.
Tips for mommy-to-be during babymoon
Talk to the airline you will be flying with, to know if you would be allowed to fly. Some airlines may require a letter from your doctor
Carry your medical notes and insurance.
It’s important to carry some snacks and a bottle of water with you at all times.
The best time to travel would be your second trimester.
Comfy clothes are a must.
Enjoy the attention!
Hope you enjoyed this article, let me know what are your thoughts on a babymoon, in the comments section below. If you would like to discover more about my maternity style, stay tuned for the next post. Have a great weekend guys!
